Quick Post!

Just wanted to quickly post and apologize for not posting lately. I've been swamped with work and home stuff, plus the rush of Thanksgiving and start of Christmas shopping! WOOT!!
Good news is.....drum roll please.... I am at 200.00 this morning! I was hoping to post and say I was in ONEDERLAND, but it will be sooooo soon. I am feeling good that I have myself back on track and heading toward a goal...DH has been keeping steady and is now down like 65lbs! OMG... I am so proud of him!

I'm hosting Thanksgiving this year so it will be a busy busy week. I will try to update this soon!

Happy Thanksgiving! Good Luck with Black Friday

You and your husband have been quite an inspiration! Congratulations. I read your initial blogs with the Martha’s Vineyard diet detox. It was an example for me as I completed the detox. I lost 28 lbs on the mv detox, gained 6 pounds back after I finished; yet strived to continue with a healthier life style. Your blogs on the various diet approaches that you and your husband tried after the detox were very enlightening, as I also searched for the right strategy to get my body back in shape.
My weight loss thus far has been 48.6 pounds since Aug.21. I have another 30-40 pounds to go. I have lost 4 dress sizes. Thanks again for taking the time to do the blogs. I can't thank you enough for your openness and transparency about your journey. It is has been most helpful!

I truly need to lose another 60 pounds myself. Although 30-40 seems to work well mentally right now :-). In addition, I am gauging the final numbers on how my body responds to my changed approach, with diet and exercise. I am really toning up. I have been exercising very consistently since Aug. I have not added weights yet to the program; I am focused on cardio right now. My goal is to start adding weights in a month or so.

I have tried a couple of different eating plans since the MV detox. However, I am still doing many of the tips included in the MV detox. I do juice meals for breakfast and/or lunch when my schedule permits. However, I primarily eat lots of fruits and vegetables. With all that said, I am trying not to deprive myself so that I can stick with this approach for a life time. So I am eating chicken, fish and occasionally red meat. I have also discovered that my body responds best when I don’t eat wheat and gluten products. The challenge is that I love carbs, however I have found many wheat-gree and gluten-free products that taste good. I have also tried to satisfy the carb craving with vegetables and rice as well.

Again, you are a great inspiration. Thanks for sharing your successes with everyone. You will never know how much encouragement it brings!
